I think these issues will be ironed out by final release. Either way.. g-sync will minimize stutter issues so I am happy about that at least, lol. I should mention I've seen some footage of Witcher 3, I don't remember which exactly, but it was at 60fps and was not noticeably stuttering. Have you seen those big screens hooked up to Wii Us in stores? They look really smooth. I was in a Best Buy and didn't spot any blurring. I don't know if it was a 120hz or what.

So, this is how much I am going to be saving up for my next build. Of course the GPU will be swapped out with a DX12 when they come out and things will get cheaper

That's a lot of RAM. Future-proofing. When I built my current computer 4gb of RAM was plenty, 6 years later 16gb is average, a 4x increase, so 4x16=64. Even then 64gb isn't a lot, considering I can put terabytes of RAM into a server.

Any of you getting Beyond Earth? I'm definitely interested in grabbing it. Loved Civ V, although I am quite awful at the game. Hell yeah I'm getting Beyond Earth. Can't wait.

If this game isn't on your radar, you're going something wrong.

Future-proofing is a concept I don't buy into. Everything I buy, I mentally plan to resell a few years down the line and replace with newer, better, more power-efficient things. Besides, soon after you buy that, DDR4 will become the standard. Also, DirectX 12 will be supported by existing cards IIRC. And DDR4 will be 8x that price. I get a good 15 years out of any computer. Just because I don't throw it out when it no longer plays games at ultra resolution. I retire them to cozy lives as homelabs, as spares, and for parts. I usually take computers completely down when it costs more to run than it would to just get a new one.

Yeah, I personally don't care to preserve computers. In fact, I swap parts out often enough that I don't think I ever really just sit and buy a computer from scratch. Everyone has their own way of doing things, I guess. I find that what I do is cost-effective for me and allows me to enjoy great, recently released parts pretty often. I don't plan to move to DDR4 right away, probably within two years I will be on it though. I dont preserve them, I use them till they die. I get my moneys worth. And eventually when it no longer has any purpose to me whatsoeve, if its dead or just so old it doesn't fit in nw parts, I throw it into a vat of hydrochloric acid and recover the gold.

I throw it into a vat of hydrochloric acid and recover the gold. I thought this was a joke, then I remembered whose post I was reading.

Yeah, I just sell them while they're still good at good value. Since I like remaining on top of technology, this works best for me. It also ensures that poor decisions aren't long-lived, and that I never really get stuck with any part, really. It's perhaps a little less cost-effective than sticking to something for like...10 years, but I don't think I'd ever be willing to do that to save money. My 6990 is 6 years old and it can play watch dogs on ultra, albiet the AMD issues caused by incompetence at ubisoft mixed with secret "nvidia exclusivity" Also, Ive never bought any of the STALKER games. I really want to play them but modding a pirated game sucks.

Gunpoint is such a good game, and this is just one of the reasons why. At the end of the game, you get to pick all these different phrases to put in a blog post. There are a lot more serious lines you can pick, but of course I picked the most ridiculous. When you finish, it launches the browser and lets you share it. The writing in this game is so unexpectedly funny. Gameplay is super fun too. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes arcadey stealth games.

Not entirely sure though. AuTo, why are you going with a 9590? It's an old part (Old as in the same architecture as my almost two year old cpu) by this point and IMO, unless you are on a budget all of AMD's CPUs are not worth getting. Note that they are working on a new arch from the ground up, that should be out by the end of 2015/early 2016. It is quite obvious you are not on a budget considering the 295x2. I'm waiting on Haswell E, and DDR4. That will be my next upgrade. i7 5820K? 6 Cores of Haswell IPC? for 340 bucks? Um, yes please. My 8350 has served me well for almost two years now, its time for a refresh.

I just started playing Borderlands 2, it's pretty terrible, well, as a single player game. I get that it's better as co op. The save point system is horrendous (that's what really pissed me off), and it's optimized horribly. Ridiculous CPU gobbler. Glad I got it for free, but sucks that I was looking forward to it.
Unless I'm missing something with the save system, I'm about to uninstall forever.

Unless I'm missing something with the save system, I'm about to uninstall forever. There's auto save when the blue BL2 logo pops up, and you can save by hitting ESC and "save and quit". The checkpoint system is basically like Bioshock's vita-chambers. You just respawn at the nearest one New-U station, or the last one you activated.
